Spinach Vermicelli

Want to add a twist and greenary in your regular Vermicelli?
Dive in to this not unique but tasty combination.

Your children will definitely love this veggie and healthy recipe.

Ingredients:

  • Vermicelli- 300 gms
  • Chopped Onions- 25 gms 
  • Oye Curry's Spinach powder -2 tea spoons
  • Oil for frying
  • Red chilli powder -1 tea spoon 
  • Finely chopped tomato- 15 gms/ tomato powder (1 tea spoon) 
  • Turmeric powder- 1 tea spoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Water- 1/2 L
  • ghee- 2 tea spoons

Process:

  1. Add ghee in a pan and roast Vermicelli until they get golden brown. 
  2. Empty the roasted Vermicelli in a separate bowl.
  3. Pour oil into the pan. Wait for it to get hot.
  4. Empty onions into the oil and fry them until they turn golden brown.
  5. Add turmeric and salt.
  6. Add tomato powder or empty diced tomatoes bowl in the pan.
  7. Fry them until tomatoes get soft (if diced tomatoes), skip this step if using tomato powder. 
  8. Add water then add spinach powder and bring it to boil.
  9. Once water is boiled, empty the roasted Vermicelli into the pan, cover and cook till the Vermicelli becomes soft, stirring occasionally.
  10. Ensure the water has completely dried.
  11. Turn off the flame and let it sit for a while.
  12. Open the lid and serve immediately.
  13. You can also squeeze a quarter of a lemon for a tangy twist.

Note: Always add Spinach powder just after adding water and before adding vermicelli.
