Tomato Soup

Who does not like tomato soup? Kids' favorite, Mumma's favorite, Dadda's and Granddadda's favorite. So prepare it easily anytime. 

Ingredients:

  • 2 tsp OyeCurry Tomato Powder
  • 1 tsp butter or oil
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 garlic cloves (crushed)
  • ½ tsp black pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups water
  • ½ tsp sugar (optional)
  • A few fresh coriander leaves or basil (for garnish)
  • Croutons (Bread cubes- optional)

 

Method:

  1. Saute the base:
    Heat butter or oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and crushed garlic. Cook until soft and translucent, don't let them brown.

  2. Add the tomato powder:
    Stir in 2 tsp of OyeCurry Tomato Powder. Mix well to release its color and aroma.

  3. Pour in water:
    Add 2 cups of water gradually while stirring to avoid lumps. Let it come to a gentle boil.

  4. Season:
    Add salt, pepper, and sugar if desired. Let it simmer for about 5-6 minutes.

  5. Blend (optional):
    For a smoother soup, use a hand blender or strain. For a rustic, homemade feel—skip this step.

  6. Serve hot:
    Pour into a bowl, top with croutons and garnish with fresh herbs.
